  • What’s Your #1 Scoring Leak?
Home Why you need systems to lower your score Build your own ab wheels (instructions)

Build your own ab wheels (instructions)

Variety is the spice of life, and so it should be with your workout program.

Almost daily, I am asked what the best exercise for a golfers core is.

To be honest, there isn’t one. There are many you should be using. That’s why I created my
latest golf fitness program Core to Score.

You need a combination of progressive exercises to strengthen your core and protect your
back.

Progressions are a tool I use in every workout I design. Generally, I start you out with the
most basic of movements and add balance, weight, and a variety of other changes to keep
your body moving forward.

Granted, you need to be able to perform the exercise in good form before you move to the
next exercise in the food chain.

If you want to play golf the rest of your life, like most of us do, you need to value the muscles
that most people refer to as the ‘core’.

There is one thing I didn’t include in Core to Score though…

The Ab Wheel.

Quite simply, Core to Score gives you everything you need. Another reason, I didn’t want
you to feel obligated to buy another gadget.

However, adding an ab wheel to the Core to Score program is a good idea. It can provide the
progressive nature we want with our workouts. Adding an ab wheel will also remove any
boredom you may find months from now.

I generally see the one-wheeled version. While this one is pretty good, it is my own personal
opinion that two ab wheels are better.

Ab Wheels don’t need to be expensive.. in fact, here’s all you need to build two Ab Wheels
at home (one for each hand):

[ ] (4) 6″ Plastic Wheel, 1/2″ diameter hub
[ ] (4) 1/2″ Nylon Lock Nut
[ ] (2) 1/2″ x 12″ Threaded Rod
[ ] (2) 1/2″ x 6″ Nipple

Assemble in following order:

[ ] Place nipple over the threaded rod
[ ] Add a wheel to each side of the rod
[ ] Center the handle and screw on the lock nuts

Pretty easy!

And the finished product?

Tomorrow, I will deliver a full Ab Wheel ‘Finisher’ program that you can throw into your
existing workout, or the Core to Score program.

And later this week… I’ll show you four exercises you can use to bullet-proof your back.

Until then…

Fairways and Greens,

Christian “Ab Builder” Henning
